Directorate of Health Services (Maternal Child Health & Family Welfare)
MCH & FW Programme, a centrally sponsored scheme is implemented in the State to cater the health needs of women and children at large. The main objective of the programme is to seek stabilization of population in the shortest time at the level consistent with the needs of National Development as well as to seek improvement in the Reproductive and Child Health Status. To meet the objectives, a number of interventions are being attempted through various programmes under RCH-II and UIP.
The Following are the interventions under RCH-II, UIP implemented in the State upto the grassroot levels with the Directorate of Health Services (MCH&FW) as the implementing agency at the State level.
Maternal Health:
- Early Registration of Pregnancy.
- Tetanus Toxoid Immunization.
- Prevention and Treatment of Nutritional Anaemia.
- Ante Natal Check Up.
- Natal Care Services.
- Post Natal Care.
Child Health:
- Immunization of Children against 6 killer diseases i.e. Diptheria, Pertusis, Tetanus, Measles, Tunerculosis and Poliomylitis.
- Prevention of Childhood Anaemia with the supply of IFA Tablets (Small).
- Prevention of Night Blindness with Vit ‘A’ Solution.
- Treatment of Diarrheoa with ORS.
- Treatment of Acute Respiratory Infection.
Family Planning:
- Encouraging and promoting the use of various Contraceptives Methods.
- Upgrading the Skills of Service providers through various trainings courses in the field of Family Planning Adolescent Health etc
